Women's Only sets record for money raised

The 17th Women's Only 5K Walk & Run raised $92,150,  the  most in the event's history. "We had more participants, more volunteers and more vendors than ever before," says Shawn Houck, Corporate Events Specialist, Moses Cone Health System. "This means about 570 area women will be able to get a potentially life-saving mammogram."

More than 2,800 women and girls took part in the 5K or the fun run for girls.

The Women's Only is a fundraiser for the Mammography Scholarship Fund at The Women's Hospital of Greensboro. The fund provides mammograms for women who might not otherwise be able to afford one. All of the money raised by participants goes to the fund. Doctors recommend mammograms as the gold standard for detecting breast cancer early.
